This limited production wine comes from select vineyards in Sonoma County. Fermentation was conducted in small 2,500 gallon redwood casks at 80 to 85 degrees F. for seven days before the juice was pressed. The wine was then transferred to 2,000 gallon oak upright tanks to undergo fermentation and then placed into small French oak barrels where it was allowed to mature for 16 months. In order to maintain the integrity of the wine, it was not fined or cold stabilized. This is a rich, complex wine with layers of black cherries, plums, and currants. The finish is highlighted by good texture and length. A wine suitable for aging or for enjoying now.
